New Covid-19 Policy, Risk Assessment and Procedures

It has been an incredibly busy period at nursery as we continue to check all of the Government ‘guidance’ (which is being issued or updated on a daily basis), and update our COVID-19 policy, risk assessment and procedures accordingly.

We will be happy to answer questions and talk through any concerns or worries and explain the rationale for the procedures we are adopting. You will understand that we don’t have all of our managers in nursery full time at the moment, but we will do our best to return your calls/emails.

NEW MEASURES IN PLACE 🌈
We have new social distancing arrangements, different entrances and signage organised for drop off and collection and of course beautifully set up and equipped individual rooms, ready to keep our separate groups of children happy, fulfilled, and excited whilst at nursery.

Life at nursery won’t feel very different at all to your children, we promise you that. We have always operated in groups, with committed and consistent team members nurturing our children.

Our nurseries have always been kept incredibly clean, and our resources have always been washed and sterilised, after being in children’s mouths and after handling. We will just make sure that we go that one step further in the current circumstances.

We will not be clearing our units of toys and resources, our children need to play, rest, relax, explore. We will ensure that those toys and resources are kept clean. Our windows will be open to ensure ventilation, we will be outside in our fantastic outdoor spaces as much as possible.

SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY
In the 20 years that we have owned and run our nurseries our number one priority has always been the safety of our children. It has informed every decision we have ever made. This duty of care to keep children safe is even more critical now.

We all need to adjust to this new normal, and to learn to live with the situation we’ve all found ourselves in. Good hygiene practices are critical, and we will take a sensible approach to everything, to ensure we protect our children in all ways – practically, physically but also emotionally. Their needs will come first as always at House of Eden.

We have been receiving lots of questions from you all and in order to provide answers I have listed below answers to FAQ’s. Apologies for the lack of individual responses in most cases. We’re sure you’ll understand that it has been a logistically difficult exercise to process all of your requests in order to plan a possible strategy for the wider re-opening of all our nurseries ASAP.

We therefore wanted to update you all and thought it might be helpful to do so in the format of some questions and answers below.

HAVE I GOT CHILDCARE IF I REQUESTED IT?
All our nurseries are now open and are receiving calls on an almost daily basis for new and existing parents needing places. However, to ensure the safety of everyone, demand for places will be carefully managed with children placed in small groupings or ‘bubbles’. Your nursery manager will be able to assist you further to facilitate your requirements whilst ensuring the safety of your child and your family.

WHAT IF I ASKED FOR A LATER START DATE?
We are open to children returning to nursery throughout the next few months at a time to suit your own situation, but we do ask that you inform us a minimum of a week beforehand that you wish to re-join, to ensure we have the staff out of furlough and retrained in time. We are also accepting queries for new starters wishing to join us from September onwards.

WHAT IF I’VE CHANGED MY MIND OR I DIDN’T REPLY BUT NOW NEED CHILDCARE FROM EARLY JULY?
If you haven’t already told us that you would like your child to return to nursery, or your circumstances change over the next week and you would subsequently like your child to start back at nursery, please get in touch with us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help.

WHAT ABOUT PAYING FEES?
Fee paying parents who have committed to return to nursery will be billed from the start of each month as normal, no fees will be payable for parents whose children are not attending nursery (although we will be reviewing this situation as the months progress). Once you have booked your return date, our standard terms and conditions will then apply, and payments will be due in advance as per our T&C’s.

WILL MY CHILD LOSE THEIR PLACE IF THEY DON’T RETURN SOON?
We will do our very best to accommodate everyone’s wishes and requests and monitor the situation week by week as to the capacity we feel able to offer.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS KEPT SAFE?
We have a number of safety measures in place including staggered drop offs and pickups to ensure social distancing of adults can be maintained. Children’s groupings are organised to prevent contact with those outside their bubble. Unfortunately, parents are not allowed access to the nursery (unless on exceptional circumstances), again this is to minimise contact for everyone. All of our nurseries have good supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE). We are also continuing our good practice in supporting the children to understanding the importance of good hygiene. Our detailed COVID-19 risk assessment and policy are continually monitored and updated as required.

WHAT IS RIGHT FOR MY FAMILY?
We do recognise that the decision about whether or not to return to nursery is a personal one for each family and is dependent on everyone’s individual circumstances. We completely understand and respect each family’s decision and empathise with all of your worries. ❤️ Please do remember though, we will continue to love, care for, and shelter your children from the adult worries of the world and ensure that they have a wonderful time when they return to us at nursery. 🌈

We hope that you are all safe and well. It will be lovely to see more of you at nursery very soon.
